I always have a rad time when Jon Steele comes to town, and this time was no different! Jon called me up a few weeks back and asked me if I wanted to help him on a project for Texas surfing. "Hells yeah!" So the last couple of weeks we've been chasing Texas surf, music, Bob Hall fiestas, Texas women, changing winds and of course LoneStar Beer!!!

Somewhere in between, Jon Steele's art show was a hit! The core CC surf crew came out to support the arts and their love for Texas surfing. Fronted by California surfer Alex Knost, The Japanese Motors tore up the stage with a style that resonated like Iggy Pop!

La Ventana Classic 2009 trip with The Kiteboarder Magazine!!

This was my first travel story and could have asked for a better experience. Two weeks in La Ventana Baja, compliments of The Kiteboarder Magazine, offered the greatest get-away! I met so many amazing people and captured some great shots.

I also enjoyed many other adventures...like shooting the shit in broken spanish with the check point gaurd(who is armed with AK47 and waving a torch!). And getting my first dance with the reef; the scars are great souvineers.

The event was phenominal and raised a total of over $18,000 USD for the community of La Ventana.

Big Thanks to Palapas Ventana, Casa Verde, F-One & KiteMasters, The Kiteboarder Magazine, and of course Pacifico! Pura Vida!

New music gallery

Busy, busy, busy! I've been working quite a bit these days. It feels great. After attending a couple of shows, including a successful first art show, I have returned to the site to add some more images.

The new music gallery is filled with shots from local Texas bands including 7th Generation, Sun Salutation, South Austin Jug Band, and Sunglasses & Mushrooms.

Late night water session

Clinton Bolton hits a slider in the fading sunlight.

I was stoked to be invited out to shoot pro rider Clinton Bolton during a sunset photoshoot for DaKine. We wound up staying out in the water till 10:30 and I got a few good ones out the session, along with a few cuts and bumps from barnacles.

It was definitely a fun experience. I learned a lot about shooting, kiting, barnacles, and drinking. If all goes well the shots will be purchased and published by DaKine. Keeping my fingers cro$$ed. Check back soon for more of my adventures.

March 3rd, 2008 saw some of the best surf Texas has ever received. Luckily I had been researching the swell and wind predictions the previous night, prompting me to pack me bags for an early start. I spent the morning at my local taqueria playing the waiting game as the winds began to lay down. In an instant all flags pulled a 180 as the NW winds arrived, providing the whole Corpus Christi crew with some of the heaviest waves to come through in years. This freak chain of weather conditions caught everyone off-guard. Only the best of the best riders and photographers were on it, and scored respectively.
